Why are we selling such a great business? We
moved to Woodstock, Vermont because of its year-round
stable tourist business and its superb school system - for our
daughter (who was in 1st grade when we moved here).
Stephanie is close to graduating high school and wants to go
south for college. We have decided to move with her and be
closer to the rest of our families who live in Texas, Florida and
Kentucky.
A note about financing: Because we are going to be
moving out of the area, owner financing is not available.
However, the Vermont Economic Development Authority (VEDA) makes
available low-cost financing for qualified buyers wanting to
invest in small and medium businesses in Vermont. Click

Woodstock Vermont
April
2009 - The
Great Towns of America by authors David and Joan Vokac announced
that Woodstock, Vermont has been named one of the “top 100
best getaways for a vacation or a lifetime”. Woodstock
is described as the perfect embodiment of a New England village
”Vermont
specialty shops abound downtown, along with fine restaurants.
Numerous landmarks in and around town like the spectacular
public library reflect generous endowments and a cosmopolitan
spirit.”
Everything you love about Vermont—
words like "romantic",
"magical" and "historic" are often used to
describe this quaint village that has been called "the
prettiest small town in America". First settled in 1768,
Woodstock retains the elegant charm and rugged character of
American antiquity. With a covered bridge in the middle of town,
and stately homes surrounding the village green, it is easy to
see why Woodstock has been called the "quintessential New
England village".
Woodstock’s excellent schools and welcoming community
combined with a multitude of outdoor activities in all seasons
make our town the ideal place to live. One of the top hospitals
in the country, the Dartmouth-Hitchcock Medical Center or the
Dartmouth College are both just half an hour away from
Woodstock.
Local attractions include the
Marsh-Billings-Rockefeller National Historic Park (the only NHP
in Vermont); Pentangle Council on the Arts; Vermont Institute of
Natural Sciences; Quechee Gorge; President Calvin Coolidge State
Historic Site; Union Arena Community Center; Simon Pearce;
Sugarbush Farms; Dartmouth College; Killington and more......
Many annual events bring tourists to
Woodstock, such as: December's Wassail Weekend;
Woodstock Winter Triathlon in February; Vermont's Winter Special
Olympics in March; June's Covered Bridge Half Marathon; Quechee
Balloon Festival; Fourth of July Spectacular; the Green Mountain
Horse Association Summer Events, the July 100-mile Endurance Run
and - of course - every September & October brings the world
to Woodstock's renowned Fall Foliage.
